The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially released the results for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 on December 16, 2025. Candidates who appeared for the entrance examination can now check and download their scorecards through the official portal, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Alongside the results, the examination authority has also published the final answer key. According to officials, no changes were made to the provisional answer key previously released, and it has been deemed final for the evaluation process. This release marks a critical milestone for thousands of law aspirants across India seeking admission into the country’s premier National Law Universities for the upcoming academic session.
Exam Overview and Verification Process
The CLAT 2026 examination was conducted on December 7, 2025 (Sunday), in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The high-stakes test took place across 156 examination centers situated in various states and four Union Territories. Following the examination, the Consortium undertook a rigorous verification of candidate scores on December 14 and 15 to ensure accuracy before the final declaration.
Candidates can access their individual results by logging into the portal using their registered mobile number and password. The authorities have advised students to download and print their scorecards for future reference during the admission process.
Top Scores and Regional Performance
Data released by the Consortium highlights competitive cut-offs for this year’s session. In the Undergraduate (UG) category, the highest score secured is 112 marks. Meanwhile, for the Postgraduate (PG) Master of Laws (LL.M) course, the top scorer achieved 104.25 marks.
An analysis of the top-100 merit list reveals a diverse geographic representation. Candidates from Bengaluru have secured the highest number of spots in the top 100, followed by strong performances from aspirants in New Delhi and Bhopal. This distribution underscores the growing competitiveness of legal education hubs across major Indian cities.
Counseling Schedule and Procedures
The admission process for the academic year will proceed through a centralized counseling mechanism comprising five rounds. While a registration link was briefly activated on the website, it was subsequently withdrawn, with officials advising candidates to monitor the portal for the reactivated link.
Successful candidates must register for counseling by the deadline of December 27, 2025. Selected candidates will receive notifications via SMS and registered email addresses. The Consortium has outlined the following schedule for seat allotment:
