Pakistan produced a dominant performance to lift the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 title, handing India a massive 191-run defeat in the final held in Dubai on Sunday. Chasing a daunting target of 348, the Indian batting order collapsed under pressure, folding for just 156 runs in 26.2 overs.
The victory was set up by a spectacular batting display from Pakistan, headlined by Sameer Minhas. His match-defining knock of 172 runs anchored the innings and propelled his team to a formidable total of 347/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Minhas was later named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his consistent brilliance.
India’s Chase Falters Early
Faced with a steep required run rate from the start, India’s response never gathered momentum. The top order failed to withstand the early pressure from Pakistan’s bowlers, losing wickets at regular intervals during the first powerplay. The inability to build partnerships proved fatal for the defending champions.
Key batters were dismissed cheaply, leaving the middle order with an impossible task. Vaibhav Suryavanshi offered brief resistance with a score of 26, but he lacked support from the other end. Pakistan’s bowlers maintained disciplined lines and lengths, exploiting early movement to force mistakes. Once the top order was dismantled, the rest of the lineup crumbled swiftly, ending the contest well before the halfway mark.
Minhas and Hussain Set the Platform
Earlier in the day, Pakistan’s batting unit took full advantage of the conditions. While Minhas stole the show with his century, he received crucial support from Ahmed Hussain. Hussain contributed a valuable 56, helping to stabilize the innings and allowing Minhas to accelerate freely.
Their partnership ensured Pakistan capitalized on a solid foundation, applying scoreboard pressure on India right from the break. The Indian bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, allowing Pakistan to post a total that ultimately proved insurmountable.
A One-Sided Finale
Despite a promising run leading up to the final, India were thoroughly outplayed in the summit clash. Pakistan’s emphatic win highlighted their superiority in all departments on the day, combining ruthless bowling with powerful batting to seal the championship in style.
