Almora, Uttarakhand: A passenger bus en route to Ramnagar from Bhikiyasain veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Almora district on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred on the Bhikiyasain-Vinayak motor road, with reports indicating several casualties and many passengers sustaining serious injuries.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene following the incident. Teams from the district administration, state police, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are engaged in extensive rescue and relief operations. The injured are being evacuated and rushed to nearby hospitals for immediate medical attention.
Officials have confirmed that passengers with critical injuries are being referred to higher medical centres for specialised treatment. The administration is closely supervising the rescue efforts to ensure all survivors are safely extricated.
