Ranchi: The Jharkhand government is set to issue appointment letters to 2,015 successful candidates of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination-2023. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will distribute the letters at a ceremony scheduled at Ranchi’s Morhabadi Ground on December 30, 2025, starting at 1:30 PM.

This recruitment drive aims to fill several key positions across various government departments that have been vacant for a long time. The government anticipates that these appointments will enhance administrative efficiency and streamline public services.

Key Positions and Preparations

According to official information, the appointments will be made for posts including Assistant Section Officer, Block Welfare Officer, Block Supply Officer, Labour Enforcement Officer, Circle Inspector-cum-Kanungo, Junior Secretariat Assistant, and Planning Assistant.

The state administration has already begun preparations for the event. A formal government order has been issued, appointing Principal Secretary to the Finance Department, Prashant Kumar, as the nodal officer for the program. The Ranchi Deputy Commissioner has been tasked with overseeing security, traffic management, and other logistical arrangements at the venue.

Appointment Amidst Legal Battle

The JSSC CGL examination has been marred by controversy over the past few years, with allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities leading to legal challenges. The matter reached the Jharkhand High Court, which on December 3, 2025, cleared the path for the appointments of most candidates, while staying the results of 10 individuals.

However, the legal battle is not over. Some candidates have challenged the High Court’s decision by filing a petition in the Supreme Court. In response, the selected candidates have also filed a caveat in the apex court to ensure their side is heard before any order is passed.

While the state government’s decision to proceed with the appointments brings significant relief to the selected candidates awaiting their postings, the finality of the recruitment process now rests with the Supreme Court. The upcoming ceremony on December 30 is being viewed as a crucial milestone in the state’s public recruitment efforts.
