NEW DELHI: Citizens hoping to witness the grandeur of the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path in 2026 can soon secure their spots. The Ministry of Defence has announced that ticket sales for the Republic Day Parade and the Beating Retreat ceremony will commence on January 5, 2026.

According to the official notification, the window for purchasing tickets will remain open from January 5 to January 14, 2026. Authorities have ensured that both online and offline purchasing options are available to facilitate public participation.

Ticket Prices and Categories

The Ministry has released a structured pricing list for the various events associated with the celebrations. Tickets for the main Republic Day Parade on January 26 at Kartavya Path will be available in two categories: ₹100 and ₹20.

For those interested in the Beating Retreat ceremony, which marks the formal conclusion of the festivities, tickets for the main event on January 29 at Vijay Chowk are priced at ₹100. Additionally, tickets for the Full Dress Rehearsal of the Beating Retreat, scheduled for January 28, will be sold at a nominal rate of ₹20.

How to Book Tickets Online

To streamline the process, the government has enabled digital booking through its official portal. Citizens can visit aamantran.mod.gov.in to select their preferred event and ticket category. The entire booking process is digital, ensuring transparency and ease of access.

Offline Counters and Timings

For those preferring physical tickets, six counters have been set up across New Delhi. These counters will operate daily from January 5 to January 14. The timings are set from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. However, ticket availability is subject to daily quotas.

  • Sena Bhawan (near Gate No. 5)
  • Shastri Bhawan (near Gate No. 3)
  • Jantar Mantar (Main Gate)
  • Parliament House Reception
  • Rajiv Chowk Metro Station (near Gate No. 3 and 4, Block D)
  • Kashmere Gate Metro Station (near Gate No. 8, Concourse Level)

Mandatory Identification Requirements

Security remains a top priority for these high-profile events. The Ministry has clarified that a valid original photo identification card is mandatory both for purchasing tickets and for entry into the venue. Accepted documents include Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, or any government-issued ID card. Visitors must ensure they carry the same ID used during booking when attending the event.

About the Beating Retreat

The celebrations formally conclude with the Beating Retreat ceremony on January 29. This event features illustrious musical performances by bands from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, alongside bands from the Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
