Vaishno Devi Yatra Advisory: Shrine Board warns against fake WhatsApp bookings, issues helpdesk number

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has issued a fresh advisory for pilgrims, cautioning them against a rising number of fraudulent booking scams. In a statement released recently, the board urged devotees to remain vigilant against fake messages, phone calls, and WhatsApp forwards claiming to offer Yatra registrations or related services.

The advisory comes in response to several reported instances where pilgrims were duped by unauthorized individuals and websites. These fraudsters often use misleading online advertisements to promise helicopter tickets, darshan passes, or accommodation, leading to both financial loss and significant inconvenience for visiting devotees.

Official Booking Channels Only

The Shrine Board has strictly clarified that it does not authorize any third-party agents or private websites to conduct bookings. Pilgrims have been advised to rely solely on the official website, maavaishnodevi.org, for all Yatra-related services.

Officials emphasized the need for verification before making any digital payments. To assist pilgrims who may be unsure about the authenticity of a booking offer, the board has operationalized a dedicated helpdesk. Devotees can contact +91 9906019494 to verify details or report suspicious activities.

Smart Locker Facilities and New Guidelines

To ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage, the board has also updated information regarding cloakroom services. Smart locker facilities have been installed at multiple key locations to allow devotees to safely store their belongings. These facilities are available at:

  • Room No. 04 at Bhawan
  • Waiting Hall (Ram Mandir)
  • Durga Bhawan
  • Parvati Bhawan
  • Gate No. 03
  • Adhkuwari

Free Locker Access for Specific Pilgrims

The advisory also highlighted a special provision for select categories of pilgrims. The smart locker facility at Room No. 04, Bhawan, is available free of cost for devotees who have confirmed bookings for specific services. These services include:

  • SSVP
  • Atka Aarti
  • Nav Chandi Paath
  • Group Atka
  • Katra–Panchi helicopter service
  • Jammu–Bhawan–Jammu packages

However, the board specified a mandatory procedural step to avail of this benefit. Pilgrims must get their booking receipts stamped at the reception counter of Room No. 04. Receipts without the official stamp will not be accepted for the waiver of locker fees. The administration has urged all visitors to familiarize themselves with these norms to ensure a smooth darshan experience.
