The Madhya Pradesh government is intensifying its efforts to upgrade infrastructure and services across the education and transport sectors. In a move aimed at providing relief to parents and students, the state is considering a new initiative to make educational materials more affordable for those enrolled in private schools.

School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh has announced that the government plans to organize block-level book fairs across the state. These fairs are intended to provide textbooks and other essential school supplies to private school students at minimum rates. This proposal is being viewed as a significant step toward reducing the financial burden on families associated with private education.

Focus on Transport Infrastructure

Parallel to educational reforms, the state is also overhauling its transport sector. Officials emphasized that the government is continuously working to improve available resources and infrastructure in both departments. A key focus within the transport department has been increasing transparency in operations.

The government is set to launch the ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva’ (Chief Minister’s Easy Transport Service) soon. According to officials, this new service will commence its operations from the Indore division before expanding to other regions. The initiative aims to streamline public mobility and improve connectivity.

Strict Action on Safety Violations

Addressing concerns regarding passenger safety, the Transport Minister responded to questions about a viral video showing a man hanging onto a bus in Rewa. He stated that the government takes immediate cognizance of such incidents.

“Whenever such videos come to our notice, we forward them to the local Superintendent of Police (SP) with instructions for appropriate action. Our government has already taken strict action in 19 distinct cases of this nature so far.” — Transport Minister

The administration reiterated its commitment to better governance by enhancing transparency and ensuring strict enforcement of safety norms on the roads.
